Kia ora! My name is Charles Bennett and I'm an independent marriage celebrant.
I am married to my hoa rangatira -Trina. We have two children - our daugter Hinekiri who is 22 and our son Karama who is 20. We also have three four legged children - a Boxer called Ace - a Bouvier des Flandres called Kapi - and our Abyssinian cat - Chiquita-Louise!
We live in Lower Hutt, Wellington and have previously lived in Auckland, Hamilton, Taumarunui, Te Puke, Nelson and Potaka - a small settlement on the East Cape.
I look forward to meeting you and assisting with your special day!

Get to know each other and start planning
We need to meet!
This is an important first step to get to know each other and make sure we match!
From there I will write a ceremony based on your wishes for your special day
APPROVAL
Ceremony details sent to you for approval
After we have met and I have written your ceremony, I will send it to you to make any adjustments and for final approval.
We can have as many emails and phone calls as necessary.
REHERSAL
Anytime before the big day!
I will be available for a rehearsal to suit you. This could be anytime leading up to your big day - the day prior seems to work for most. During the rehearsal we will finalise who will stand where, who will say what and the order of the day.
THE BIG DAY......
It's all about you!
I will arrive at least half an hour before the ceremony to check on things. I will meet with the guests, parents, bridal party and of course the happy couple. We'll have a final run through of the ceremony and then it's lights, camera - ACTION!!
THE RULES......
There aren't any!!
Apart from a few words which I must say to make your marriage legal - there are no rules when it comes to your day. The ceremony can be long, short, funny, serious. You can include your friends and family with readings, poems, songs - what ever YOU want. I am here as the officiant but also to help to coordinate your wishes
